Office Manager
Run the business side of a growing North Liberty clinic without drowning in data entry or taking the work home.
You are a manager. So stop doing data entry at 9pm.
You know the pattern. You were hired to lead an office. Then somehow the credentialing, the claim corrections and the schedule gaps all landed on your desk. So the actual managing happens after hours, at your kitchen table.
We want the opposite. This role owns the business side of the clinic and is expected to delegate, not absorb.
Motion Matters Physical Therapy and Wellness is a woman-owned practice in North Liberty, founded and owned by Natalie Johnston, MPT. She has 24 years of experience and a fellowship in pain science. She treats. She needs someone who runs the rest of it and has opinions about how.
Send My Application. One email to the owner is the whole process. Details are at the bottom of this page.
What the work looks like
- Financial planning and budgeting for a small, growing practice.
- Directing the front desk team, hiring, training, and keeping the day calm.
- Insurance credentialing and compliance, kept current instead of firefighted.
- Delegating administrative and insurance work rather than hoarding it.
- Being on the floor enough to help patients when the room needs it.
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's degree.
Experience
- Three to five years in a physical therapy office or as an office manager.
- Real interest in healthcare leadership and in building a small business.
What we need from you
- Proven financial planning and financial management skills, including budgeting.
- Staff management: you can direct a team of medical receptionists and still hold your own workload.
- Working knowledge of legal, medical, credentialing and insurance compliance.
- Organized and detail-oriented, with the judgment to delegate.
- Able to lift 50 lbs, with some bending and squatting, to assist patients.
- Comfortable with patients of every age.
This job fits someone who is
- Dependable, more reliable than spontaneous.
- People-oriented, and glad about it.
- Adaptable, because some days shift direction.
- Detail-oriented, and loyal to the people next to you.
Pay, benefits, and the parts people actually ask about
Compensation is competitive, and we talk about it with you directly instead of posting a number that means nothing. We would rather you not need a second job to make rent, because burnout costs everybody.
- Medical, dental and vision
- 401k
- Accrued PTO
- Holiday pay
- CEU reimbursement, and unlimited CEUs
- Structured mentorship, not a handshake and a login
- Flexible schedule, part-time or full-time, built around your life
Who this is not for
If you want a quiet seat and a fixed list of tasks, this is not it. A small clinic asks its manager to decide things. Another year of managing nothing but your own inbox is a year you do not get back.
