We map where the tissue stops gliding.
Some tightness never sits in one tidy spot. It wraps a whole region. That is the kind we work by hand, slowly, until the tissue gives.
What It Is
Fascia is the connective tissue that wraps every muscle and joint you have. It is built to glide. After an injury, a surgery, or years of quietly guarding one side, it thickens and starts to stick instead.
Fascia Release Therapy is sustained, slow pressure held into a restriction until it lets go. It is not a quick rub, and it is not one knot. Your therapist follows the restriction across the whole region, because fascia does not stop politely at the edge of a muscle.
You have already foam rolled this. You have already stretched it every morning for a year. That is exactly the person this helps, because rolling reaches the surface and this reaches the layer underneath. And the release is only the opening: the movement work you do in the same visit is what teaches the tissue to stay there.
Hands only, pressure you set
What It Helps
A restricted region does not stay quiet. You start moving around it, the good side takes the load, and eventually two things hurt instead of one.
What A Session Looks Like
1
We map where the tissue stops gliding.
2
Slow pressure, held until it gives.
3
You move in the new range before you leave.
Why It Works
Reaches the layer rolling never does.
Works a whole region, not one spot.
Softens stiffness that surgery left behind.
Opens range your exercises then keep.

Questions, Answered
It is deep, sustained pressure, so you will feel it. People tend to describe a strong stretch or a slow ache that eases off as the tissue lets go, rather than a sharp pain. You set the ceiling. Say back off and your therapist backs off, because tissue that is braced against pressure will not release anyway.
Massage works the muscle. This works the connective tissue wrapped around it, with pressure held in one place instead of stroked over it. It is also aimed. The region was chosen in your cause-first evaluation, one-on-one with a licensed physical therapist, and the target is a specific movement you cannot do yet, not general relaxation.
It depends on your plan. Plans differ on how they handle hands-on treatment inside a physical therapy visit, so the only honest answer is that we will find out. We will check your benefits for you before your first session, so the bill holds no surprises. Questions before then? Call us at (319) 382-2743 and ask.
